Kaffenbak V - 1st November

Posted on 13th October, 2014

Well, 2014 is flying by and it's already time for the last Kaffenbak of the year. This time we'll be visiting The Potting Shed Cafe at Rutland Village near Oakham. Table is booked for 9:30am onwards and the food is great (well, it was last time I went ;) ). There is a good garden centre and some nice shops for a peruse round afterwards, and if the weather is kind there are some great roads in the area for an extended drive home.

Please let us know if you would like to come along, as places are limited, by replying on the MGF Register Forum post.

Halloween costumes optional!

Peaks and Dales Natter - Winter Hiatus

Posted on 13th October, 2014

As we move in to the autumn/winter season and people are less inclined to bring their MGs out we will be putting the Peaks and Dales natters on hold until spring 2015.

Next year I would like to move this around a little so we get to try out a few different places so will be open to suggestions.

Shardlow meets will continue as normal through the winter.

See you soon and Safety Fast.

Kaffenbak III

Posted on 8th April, 2014

WOW, time flies. We are already closing in rapidly on the next Breakfast Meet so here are the details. We are planning to run up to Donington Park after the meet as it is the first day of the Donington Historic Festival weekend.

What: KAFFENBAK III - The idea is a simple one. We all make our own way to the venue for a nice breakfast and a chat. Basically a Saturday breakfast natter, where you drive to the Cafe and back (see what we did there?).

When: Saturday 3rd May, meeting at 9:30.

Where: The Cattows Farm Shop, Cattows Farm, Swepstone Road, Heather, Leicestershire, LE67 2RF

Please reply to this thread so I can get numbers to the venue.

I can see clearly now...

Having been disappointed with the windscreen washer jets on my two previous Fs I was pleased when I bought this one as it had Citroen "Mist" jets fitted. While they are an improvement in the spread of the water when stationary, on the move they were as useless as always.

But no more!

I'd seen a post on the MGF Register site a few weeks ago which suggested a ZT pump could be used, so I set about sourcing one. Having trawled around for a used one I came across a non OEM one on the dreaded ebay for under a tenner delivered. Worth a punt!

Well, here are the results, a massive improvement and I know that on those horrid salty motorway runs I'll still have a lovely clear screen.

Register Regalia

Don't forget that you can by some great accessories and regalia from the MGF Register Regalia shop Online as well as at shows. I've recently received a great sweatshirt which I had personalised with the emmgf URL. I'm really happy with the price and quality and will be sporting it at future events for sure.

MG and Triumph Spares Day - 02/03/2014

Posted on 6th February, 2014

The first big MG event of the year is nearly upon us so I thought that it would be a good opportunity to have our first convoy to a big MG event as well.

The MG and Triumph Spares Day at Stoneleigh.

Suggest we meet up at Leicester Forest East Service (M1 Southbound) around 8:30am with a view to setting off at 8:45am sharp (ish).

Obviously if you get there earlier you will have time to sample the fine fayre on offer at the services. We can then head off for a blast along the M1 and M69 then go cross country for the last few miles to Stoneleigh. That should get us on site just before the 9:30 start time and hopefully mean that we'll be in the undercover, marque appropriate, parking.Once we are there we can head off in our own direction and perhaps meet up later for a coffee and to compare hauls.

If you fancy joining us please put your name down on the MGF Register Forum post

Look forward to seeing you there.
